For the Sony Reader PRS-T2 (2012 model) and PRS-T3 (2013 model): When the following screen appears on your e-reader, click Yes. Updating the e-reader software At this stage, Reader might ask you if you want to update the e-reader software. Installing Reader software (Reader for PC/Mac) Turn on your computer, connect your computer to the internet, and then connect the Reader to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Make sure you have administrator access to your computer.
Install Sony Reader Software
This utility updates the Sony Reader PRS-T2 firmware to version 1.1.00.17210 and includes the following benefit:
- Replacing “Reader Store” icon with “Kobo eBook Store” icon to enable direct access to Kobo Bookstore via Wi-Fi connection.
Note: “Reader Store” and “Kobo eBook Store” are not applicable for New Zealand. - Disabling the following functionality linked to Reader Store:
- Facebook sharing
- Bookmarks and reading position sync
- Annotations and highlights sync. - Removal of More Content page.

Important Notes:
- The software update process takes about 6 to 8 minutes.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
