Rocketech Cac Reader Driver For Mac

Purchased this memory card reader along with a 64 GB SD card to use as back up storage for important documents, files and other information that could be lost, stolen or destroyed through some natural or man-made disaster. Over the last 3 years, I've personally known of several such events - losing all of your important documents will create a lot of issues over the short and long run for most people.
Using this reader, I've decided to capture, through scanned documents, pictures and pdf books, everything from my birth certficate and thereafter every important life event document, including pictures of family and friends, a short compressed video of the interior/exterior of my home for insurance documentation, a pass-word protected document with all of my important passwords (actually a algorithm for how each password was created and updated over time - so you don't have to remember those unique passwords, each of which is progressively more secure and complex), credit cards, drivers license, identification cards, tax documents, property records, insurance policies, etc.). I purchased two readers - one on my desk and one that this stored in a small fire proof container, and further wrap it in bubble wrap and put it into an old Altoids mint box, that I keep in the freezer (you ask why in the freezer, because in most cases this is the only part of a house that survives a 'burn to the ground' fire) and for other less obvious reasons.
I rotate the readers every so often as I update a password protected folder on my computer with files that I want to store on the card and the reader. Until there's a new micro data storage standard, I expect that you'll find ways to be able to read the data with this reader for some time into the future. The reader has a plastic shell, the snap on covers fit nicely over the SD port, and there's swing cover to protect the USB side - has a small hole that I used to put a strap on to make it easy to carry or secure.
The reader works flawlessly on my Mac and Windows computers, and to load up about 32 GB of content takes about 10 minutes - I start the copying process and then when completed do a file folder comparison to make sure that everything copied correctly - have not lost any data or had any corrupted files. You should know that over time the SD card will become less efficient in file transfers and storage but I figure that I'll only need to get bigger SD cards as I continue to add more important documents and content to my digital lifeline and storage solution.
Will buy more of these and doing the same for my kids - giving them a family archive of pictures, files, documents and other information that they can have to hold and cherish in the future.
