To assist you better I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:
I bought a CAC reader for at home use (checking email, etc.) and I can't figure out how to configure my us.af.mil email to work with Microsoft Outlook to work with my CAC so I can check my email and stuff.
- Try installing the latest Windows 8 drivers for CAC reader and check. I would suggest you to update the CAC Reader drivers from the Manufacturer’s website and check. If the CAC Reader drivers are not compatible with Windows 8 Operating System, I would suggest you to try installing it in compatibility mode and check.
- Reliable and up-to-date software. To update your system software: 1 Choose Apple ( ) menu > Software Update. 2 If an update for Mac OS X appears in the list, select its checkbox. 3 Click Install, and then follow the onscreen instructions. 1)What is the make and model of the CAC Reader?
2)What happens when you try to connect the CAC Reader device?
3)Do you get any error message / code?
Follow the troubleshooting steps and check;
Try installing the latest Windows 8 drivers for CAC reader and check.
I would suggest you to update the CAC Reader drivers from the Manufacturer’s website and check.
If the CAC Reader drivers are not compatible with Windows 8 Operating System, I would suggest you to try installing it in compatibility mode and check.
In case not able to update the drive I would suggest you to manually download and install the drivers from the Manufacturer’s website and check.
Follow the steps to install it in compatibility mode;
a)Press the ‘Windows key + W’ key on the keyboard.
b)Type compatibility in the search box and then press Enter.

Is it possible for the PKard Reader to be a CAC reader for your home computer (running Mac OS X 10.8.5, with PKard for Mac installed)? I just received the PKard Reader and I'm wondering if the USB cable provided is intended for users to be allowed to link up to a computer as use it as reader as well? I've plugged the PKard Reader in and the computer recognizes the device by name, however the browsers (Safari and Chrome) do not seem to be able to access from the PKard Reader. Would love not to have to lug around my Cherry reader...Thanks!
